Law firms
Social media content for Long Island law firms
Quick answer
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for law firms across Long Island: attorneys explaining a process in plain words, the firm, and its people. Every piece names a responsible lawyer or firm, as Rule 7.1 requires, and no client confidence appears. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
Updated
Most people meet a lawyer at one of the worst moments of their year, and they choose the one who seemed to explain things clearly before they ever called. A minute from an attorney on what happens at a closing, after an accident, or when a will is probated does that work. We film your attorneys and staff, the office, and short answers to the questions clients ask, and hand over a month of Reels, photos, and captions.
New York rewrote its lawyer advertising rules effective June 1, 2026. The old required label and disclaimer are gone, replaced by a plain standard: nothing false or misleading, and the name and contact information of a responsible lawyer or firm on every communication. Client confidences stay out, and results are never framed as what the next client will get. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.

How it works
A process explained in general terms, such as a closing, probate, or a claim, by the attorney who handles it.
Meet the attorney
One attorney at a time, on the areas they practice and how they work with clients, with any certification named as Rule 7.1(c) requires.
The question we hear most

How we film a law firm
Rules we keep on every firm shoot, on top of the overview's.
- No client, file, docket, or case detail appears without the client's informed consent, and screens and files stay out of frame.
- Every piece carries the name and contact information of a responsible lawyer or firm, in the caption and on the end card.
- Results are never framed as what another client can expect, and a firm that wants a disclaimer gets one.
- Certified specialist appears only with the certifying organization named; concentrates in or practices is the default.
- Actors and dramatizations are labeled as such so nothing reads as a real case.
- The responsible attorney approves every outline and every finished piece.

Your side
What your firm provides
We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.
- A responsible attorney who approves outlines and finished pieces, and the name and contact information to put on each one.
- Attorneys' practice areas, admissions, and any certification with its certifying organization.
- A client's informed consent, in writing, before any client or matter appears.
- The questions clients ask most, so the calendar starts from real ones.
- Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.
Rules
Rules that shape law firm content
New York's amended Rule 7.1, results, specialists, confidences, and paying for recommendations.
Rule 7.1, as amended June 1, 2026
Rule 7.1(a) says a lawyer shall not make a false or misleading communication about the lawyer or the lawyer's services, including one that omits a fact needed to keep it from being materially misleading, and Rule 7.1(d) says any communication must include the name and contact information of at least one lawyer or law firm responsible for its content. The NYSBA notes that the old Attorney Advertising label and the required prior results disclaimer were eliminated. We put the responsible name and contact line on every piece.
Results can still mislead
Comment 3 to Rule 7.1, published by the State Bar, says a truthful report of a lawyer's achievements for clients may be misleading if it leads a reasonable person to expect the same result for others without reference to the facts of each case, and that an appropriate disclaimer or qualifying language may prevent that. So we do not cut verdict or settlement pieces without the firm's wording, and a disclaimer is there if the firm wants it.
Certified specialist needs a named certifier
Rule 7.1(c) says a lawyer shall not state or imply certification as a specialist unless certified by an organization approved by an appropriate authority of a state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory, or accredited by the American Bar Association, and the certifying organization is clearly identified in the communication. Comment 7 adds that saying a lawyer concentrates in or specializes in a field is generally permitted if it is not false or misleading.
Client confidences stay off camera
Rule 1.6(a) says a lawyer shall not knowingly reveal confidential information unless the client gives informed consent or another exception applies, and defines confidential information to include information likely to be embarrassing or detrimental to the client. A client story, a case photo, or a file on a desk is that kind of information, so it appears only with the client's informed consent.
No paying for recommendations
Rule 7.2(a) says a lawyer shall not compensate or give anything of value to a person or organization to recommend or obtain employment by a client, with narrow exceptions. Paying us to make content about your own firm is not that, but paying a creator or a past client to recommend you would raise it, so we do not plan pieces around paid recommendations.
Written consent from everyone on camera
New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, or a parent's or guardian's for a minor. That covers staff and customers alike, so a signed release comes before anyone appears in a piece.
A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.
Questions
Questions law firms ask us
- Who makes social media content for law firms on Long Island?
- Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film attorneys, staff, and the office for law firms and solo practitioners across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions for the responsible attorney to approve. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
- How much does monthly content cost for a law firm?
- Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a law firm as for any other business.
- Do our videos still need to say Attorney Advertising?
- Not under the amended rules. The NYSBA notes that the labeling requirement in old Rule 7.1(f) was eliminated effective June 1, 2026. Rule 7.1(d) now requires the name and contact information of at least one responsible lawyer or firm on any communication, which we put on every piece. A firm that wants to keep the old label can.
- Can we feature a client's case or a verdict?
- Only with the client's informed consent under Rule 1.6, and worded so it does not suggest the same result for anyone else. Comment 3 to Rule 7.1 says a truthful report of results can still mislead without context, and that a disclaimer may help. The responsible attorney writes or approves that wording.
- Can an attorney be called a specialist?
- Saying an attorney concentrates in or specializes in a field is generally permitted if it is true and not misleading. Calling them a certified specialist requires certification by an approved or ABA-accredited organization, named in the piece, under Rule 7.1(c).
- Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
- No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
