Cafes and bakeries

Social media content for Long Island cafes and bakeries

Quick answer

Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for cafes and bakeries across Long Island: the morning bake, the pastry case filling, and the coffee bar, filmed before the first customer walks in. Claims like gluten-free or made from scratch are used only when true. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.

Updated

A bakery's best footage happens while everyone else is asleep: dough coming out of the proofer, butter folded into layers, the first trays out of the oven, the case filling before the doors open. We are there for it, along with the espresso pour and the counter in the morning rush, and hand over a month of Reels, photos, and captions.

Small claims carry weight in a bakery: made from scratch, baked fresh daily, gluten-free. We use them only when they are true of what is on screen. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.

Through the year

A cafe and bakery year, in content

Holidays drive the orders. The pieces go out early enough to fill the order book.

  1. Winter

Valentine's Day orders, warm drinks, and the bakers on the craft behind a croissant.

  2. Spring

Easter and Mother's Day orders, the spring menu, and the first iced drinks.

  3. Summer

Iced coffee, fruit pastries, and custom cake orders for the season's parties.

  4. Fall and the holidays

Pumpkin and apple everything, Thanksgiving pie orders, and holiday cookies, posted weeks before the order deadline.

The work

What we make for a cafe or bakery

Pieces built on texture, timing, and the people who get up at 4 a.m.

  • The morning bake

Proofing, shaping, scoring, and the first trays out of the oven, in close-up and slow motion.

  • The case, filling up

A time-lapse of the pastry case from empty to full before the doors open.

  • The coffee bar

Grinding, pulling a shot, steaming milk, and latte art, from your baristas.

  • Custom orders

A cake or a holiday order from sketch to box, with the customer's OK if it is theirs.

  • The baker on a recipe

Why the dough rests overnight or where the flour comes from, a minute at a time.

  • Order deadlines

Holiday menus and order-by dates as a carousel and a short Reel, in your words.

On site

How we film a cafe or bakery

Early mornings and a small space. These are the habits.

  • We work around the bake schedule, not the other way around, and stay out of the path between the bench and the oven.
  • Everything shown is your own product, baked as you sell it. No borrowed pastries, no props.
  • A claim like gluten-free, vegan, or made from scratch goes in a caption only if you confirm it is true of that item.
  • Regulars at the counter are kept unrecognizable unless they sign a release, and children only with a parent's written consent.
  • Staff appear with a signed release, and anyone who would rather not is left out.
  • We follow your kitchen's hair and hygiene rules behind the counter.

A content month

What a month looks like

Examples of how each tier tends to fill for a cafe or bakery. The content calendar sets the real mix around your menu and your holidays.

  1. Partner

    $1,500 per month

One early content day, from the first bake into the morning rush. Four to six finished pieces, for example a morning bake Reel, a case time-lapse, a latte art piece, and a carousel of the menu, delivered within 5 business days.

  2. Partner+

    $2,750 per month

Two content days, often one on the bake and one on a custom order or holiday menu. One long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, such as the owner walking through a day from 4 a.m. to close, ten short form pieces, and three to four static or carousel posts. 3 business day turnaround.

  3. Flagship

    $4,000 per month

A weekly presence through the year, with event coverage included, such as an anniversary or a pop-up: 16+ finished pieces a month and 48 hour turnaround.

How the partnership works, on the For Business page

Your side

What your cafe or bakery provides

We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.

  • Access during the bake, usually before you open.
  • Your holiday menus and order deadlines a few weeks ahead.
  • Which items are gluten-free, vegan, or made from scratch, confirmed by you.
  • Bakers and baristas willing to be on camera, each with a signed release.
  • Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.

Rules

Rules that shape cafe and bakery content

Claims about what is in the food, what the food on screen has to be, and who can appear.

  • Gluten-free means the FDA's definition

The FDA's gluten-free labeling rule applies to packaged foods, and the agency recommends that restaurants making a gluten-free claim on their menus be consistent with its definition, under which any unavoidable presence of gluten in the food must be less than 20 parts per million. So an item is called gluten-free in a piece only if you confirm it meets that, not because it has no wheat flour.

  • Made from scratch has to be true

New York's General Business Law section 350 declares false advertising unlawful, and section 350-a defines it as advertising that is misleading in a material respect. Made from scratch, baked fresh daily, or local are the kind of words that can be. They go in a caption only when they are true of the item on screen.

  • Guests and staff on camera

New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, and section 51 lets that person sue to stop the use and recover damages. A diner at the next table is covered as much as your staff, so anyone recognizable in a piece has signed a release, and everyone else is kept unrecognizable.

  • Music needs a license for business use

Meta's Music Guidelines, which apply on Instagram and Facebook, say that using music for commercial or non-personal purposes is prohibited unless you have the appropriate licenses. We cut every piece to music licensed for it, or to none.

A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.

Questions

Questions cafes and bakeries ask us

Who makes social media content for cafes and bakeries on Long Island?
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film the morning bake, the case, the coffee bar, and custom orders for cafes and bakeries across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
How much does monthly content cost for a bakery or cafe?
Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a cafe or bakery as for any other business.
Can you film our bakers early in the morning?
Yes. The bake is the best footage a bakery has, so the content day is usually built around it, before your doors open, and runs into the morning rush. We work around your schedule and stay out of the path between the bench and the oven.
Can we call items gluten-free in our posts?
Only if they meet the FDA's definition, which the agency recommends restaurants follow on menus: any unavoidable gluten must be less than 20 parts per million. You confirm which items qualify, and only those get the label.
When should a bakery post its holiday menu?
A few weeks before the order deadline, with a reminder piece the week of it. We film the holiday items early, often on a test bake, so the menu and the order-by date are out while there is still room in the book.
Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
