Westhampton Beach is an incorporated village in the western part of the Town of Southampton. The area was long called Ketchaponack before the village incorporated in 1928. Its center is Main Street. Montauk Highway and Sunrise Highway both serve the village, and Francis S. Gabreski Airport sits about three nautical miles north of the business district. The Village of Quogue lies to the east and the hamlets of Westhampton and Remsenburg to the west. Across the bay to the south, Dune Road runs the length of the barrier beach from Moriches Inlet to Shinnecock Inlet, lined in long stretches with beach houses.
