East Northport is a hamlet in the Town of Huntington, south and east of the Village of Northport. It grew from two older settlements, Larkfield on the north side and Clay Pitts on the south, and its main roads are Larkfield Road and Vernon Valley Road. The Northport station on the Port Jefferson Branch is here rather than in the village, at Larkfield Road and Bellerose Avenue, where the railroad moved it in 1873 to extend the line east, and the town green on Larkfield Road sits at the old Northport Traction trolley stop.

After the Second World War the farmland here turned into subdivisions, and most of the housing dates from that shift: capes, ranches, high ranches, split levels, and colonials on regular lots, many since expanded or opened up.
