Fence and deck builders
Social media content for Long Island fence and deck builders
Quick answer
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for fence and deck builders across Long Island: a fence from post holes to the last picket, a deck from footings to railing, and the line from above. The neighbor's side of the fence stays out of frame. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
Updated
A fence or a deck goes up in days, and a straight line is half the craft. We film the layout, the posts or footings going in, the framing, and the last board, then fly the drone over the finished run when airspace and weather allow, and hand over a month of Reels, photos, and captions cut for each platform.
Fences sit on property lines, which makes them the one trade where two households are always in the shot. We frame your customer's side, keep the neighbor's yard, house, and family out of the piece, and never say where a property line is: a survey decides that, not a Reel. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.
Through the year
A fence and deck year, in content
Fence season and deck season overlap but do not match. The calendar catches both.
Late winter
Booking season: the owner on materials, heights, and what to settle with the town and the neighbors before a fence goes in.
Spring
Fence season starts: privacy, picket, and pool fences, from layout and post holes to the last section.
Summer
Decks from footings to railing, with the finished deck at dusk when there is lighting.
Fall
Staining and sealing, repairs before winter, and the year's builds cut into a long form walkthrough.
Winter
Storm damage once it is safe, and the shop: material samples, hardware, and how a gate is hung so it does not sag.
The work
What we make for a fence or deck company
Pieces that show the line, the frame, and the materials up close.
Post holes to the last picket
Layout, string line, posts set, sections hung, and the finished run, from the same frame each visit.
The deck, footings to railing
Footings, framing, decking, stairs, and rail, filmed while the frame is still open so the structure shows.
The line from above
A fence run or a deck from overhead, where straight lines show. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot.
Materials, explained
Cedar, PVC, aluminum, pressure-treated lumber, and composite decking, a minute each from the owner.
Stain and seal, before and after
A gray, weathered deck or fence and the same boards after cleaning and sealing, from the same spot.
Gates that close
The details that separate a good build: a gate that swings true, a latch that catches, a post cap that sheds water.

How we film a fence or deck job
Two households, one line. These are the rules.
- We frame your customer's side. The neighbor's yard, house, windows, and family stay out of the shot.
- We never say or show where a property line runs. The survey and your customer settle that, not the caption.
- Utility marks are shown as your crew found them, and post holes or footings are dug on camera only after the marks are in.
- Before and after shots are taken from marked spots, so the stain or the new line is the only change.
- House numbers, street signs, and license plates stay out of frame.
- The drone frames your customer's yard and flies when the yard is clear.
A content month
What a month looks like
Examples of how each tier tends to fill for a fence or deck company. The content calendar sets the real mix around your season.
Partner
$1,500 per month
One content day on a fence install or a deck at the framing stage. Four to six finished pieces, for example a post-holes-to-picket Reel, an aerial of the finished line, a materials explainer, and a carousel, delivered within 5 business days.
Partner+
$2,750 per month
Two content days, which lets a deck be filmed with the frame open and again finished. One long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, such as the owner walking a finished deck and explaining the structure under it, ten short form pieces, and three to four static or carousel posts. 3 business day turnaround.
Flagship
$4,000 per month
A weekly presence through the season, following fence and deck crews at once: 16+ finished pieces a month, event coverage included, such as a home show booth, and 48 hour turnaround.

Your side
What your company provides
We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.
- Customers who have agreed to filming in writing, and a heads up on layout and framing days.
- Your Suffolk or Nassau County home improvement license number, and the company name as printed on the license, for every piece.
- The warranty terms for any product or workmanship warranty a piece mentions.
- An owner or crew lead willing to explain a material or a detail on camera.
- Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.
Rules
Rules that shape fence and deck content
County licensing, the one-call rule for post holes and footings, and warranty claims.
Fences and decks are licensed in both counties
Suffolk County Code section 563-16 names fencing and carpentry in its definition of home improvement contracting, the county's licensing codes list fencing and decks as their own categories, and section 563-17(D) says all advertising for home improvement contracting shall contain the license number. Nassau County lists fences and railings among the trades that need a home improvement license, its definition names porches, and its rules require display advertising to carry the license number and the full company name as printed on the license.

Call 811 before the digging starts
New York's one-call rule, 16 NYCRR Part 753, counts mechanized digging, auguring, fence post or pile driving, and boring as excavation, and says each excavator shall notify the one-call system at least two but not more than ten working days before the work starts, not counting the day of the call. So a piece that opens on the utility marks shows them as your crew found them, and the dig starts on camera only after the marks are in.
Warranties in Nassau County ads
Nassau County's home improvement rules say that where an ad refers to a warranty or guarantee, it shall be clearly disclosed, including what it covers and its terms. If a piece mentions a manufacturer or workmanship warranty, the terms you give us go in the caption.
The work shown has to be the work
Nassau County's home improvement rules say representations and illustrations of products or services offered to the public shall be accurately represented in all advertisements or descriptive material. So a before and after is your own job, shot as it is: no borrowed photos, and no rendering presented as finished work.
Written consent from everyone on camera
New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, or a parent's or guardian's for a minor. That covers staff and customers alike, so a signed release comes before anyone appears in a piece.
A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.
Questions
Questions fence and deck builders ask us
- Who makes social media content for fence and deck builders on Long Island?
- Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film fence installs and deck builds from layout to the last board on job sites across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
- How much does monthly content cost for a fence or deck company?
- Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a fence or deck builder as for any other business.
- How do you film a fence without showing the neighbors?
- We frame your customer's side of the line and keep the neighbor's yard, house, windows, and family out of the shot. The drone frames your customer's yard. We also never say where a property line runs; a survey settles that, not a caption.
- Can you film a deck while the frame is still open?
- Yes, and it is one of the most useful pieces you can post, because it shows the footings, joists, and hardware a homeowner will never see again. Partner+ includes two content days a month, which suits one visit at framing and one at the finish.
- Can you mention our warranty in the videos?
- Yes, with its terms. Nassau County's home improvement rules say a warranty or guarantee mentioned in an ad shall be clearly disclosed, including what it covers and its terms, so the terms you give us go in the caption.
- Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
- No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
