What does an event videographer cost on Long Island?
Updated by Core Media Co.
At Core Media Co., an event videographer for a Long Island corporate event, gala, grand opening, or community event costs $495 to $1,500 on a 3 hour base, from the raw footage up to a hero recap and five to six bonus reels. Coverage beyond 3 hours is $100 per hour on any tier. Any videographer's price comes down to hours on site, what is delivered, the crew, and the audio.
This page is about business and community events, not weddings. The cost factors and questions apply to any videographer you are considering, and our own packages sit in one box at the end.
What moves the price
What moves the price of event video
Hours on site
Event videographers often price a block of hours, sometimes with a minimum. Arrivals, setup, and the program each add time, so work the hours out from the run of show, not the start time on the invitation.
What you get back
Raw footage, a recap of about a minute, short reels cut around single moments, full speeches, and sponsor pieces are each a different amount of editing. Agree on the list of finished pieces before the day.
Crew and cameras
One shooter covers the room and the moments. Full keynotes from two angles, a separate interview setup, or a photographer as well mean more people on the day.
Audio for speeches
Clean speech audio takes a feed from the venue's sound system or a microphone on the speaker. Ask the venue what it allows, and ask the videographer how they record it.
Turnaround
A recap posted the next morning takes an editor working that night. Ask for each delivery date in writing.
Venue rules, releases, and travel
Many venues set rules on where a crew can stand and when it can load in. Anyone featured in a promotional piece, such as an honoree or a guest interview, should sign a release first, so ask who collects them. Distance and parking add time, so ask whether travel is in the price.
By kind of event
What each kind of event usually needs
Corporate events and conferences
Speaker clips, sponsor mentions, and a recap for the company's channels. The agenda and the speech audio decide the hours.
Galas and fundraisers
Arrivals, the honorees, the program, and thanks to sponsors, usually in low evening light. Pieces for next year's sponsors and donors are often part of the ask.
Grand openings and ribbon cuttings
A short program: the cut itself, the owner, the first customers, and the space. The moment of the cut cannot be reshot, so the crew arrives before it.
Community festivals and street fairs
Crowds, vendors, and performances spread over a long day, often outdoors. Public property and street closures can bring their own permit rules, so check with the organizer.

Questions
Questions about the cost of event video
- What does an event videographer cost on Long Island for a corporate event or gala?
- It depends on the hours and what you get back. Coverage beyond 3 hours is $100 per hour on any tier.
- How many hours of event video coverage do I need?
- Work it out from the run of show: arrivals, setup, and the program. Every Core Media Co. package includes 3 hours. Coverage beyond 3 hours is $100 per hour on any tier.
- Is an event videographer cheaper for a short grand opening?
- Some videographers price short events by the hour with a minimum. At Core Media Co., every event package includes 3 hours of coverage, which leaves time for setup, the ribbon cutting, and the first customers, and the price is the same whether the program runs one hour or three.
- What is the difference between raw footage and a recap video?
- Raw footage is every clip as it was shot, for a team that edits in house. A recap is an edit of roughly 60 seconds that carries the feel of the whole event, the piece you post the next day, and bonus reels are shorter cuts built around single moments.
- Who owns the video from our event?
- It depends on the videographer's terms, so ask before the day, especially if you want to use clips in ads or sponsor materials. At Core Media Co., you own the finished work, with no usage restrictions.
