Roofers
Social media content for Long Island roofing companies
Quick answer
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for roofing companies across Long Island: drone views of finished roofs, tear-off to final shingle series, and crew footage shot only with fall protection in place. No house number or street sign appears. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
Updated
A roof is hard to see from the street, and most of what makes a roofing job good is covered by the end of the day: the decking, the underlayment, the flashing at the chimney and in the valleys. We film those layers while they are open, fly the drone over the finished roof when airspace and weather allow, and hand over a month of Reels, photos, and captions cut for each platform.
We do not put a camera operator on the pitch. Crew footage is shot from the ground or from the drone, and only while your crew is in the fall protection the job calls for. Nothing we deliver shows a house number, a street sign, or anything else that gives away whose roof it is. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.
Through the year
A roofing year, in content
The calendar follows your work, so the pieces are ready before the calls that need them.
Spring
Winter shows up on roofs: lifted shingles, ice dam stains on ceilings, and flashing that let go. Inspection pieces and the first full replacements of the year.
Storm season
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. Pieces on what to check after a storm and when to call a roofer, filmed in a calm week, are ready to post when they are needed.

Fall
The push to finish before the cold. Gutters and leaf guards, and the summer's replacements cut into before and after Reels.
Winter
Repairs and ice dams on the roof, and in the shop, the owner explaining materials and the year's jobs cut into a long form walkthrough.
The work
What we make for a roofing company
Pieces that show the parts of a roof a homeowner never gets to see, and the crew that does it right.
Tear-off to final shingle
The same frames on each visit: the old roof, the bare deck, the underlayment and ice and water barrier, the flashing, and the finished field, cut into one Reel when the job wraps.
The finished roof from above
Straight lines, clean valleys, and the whole roof in one frame, by drone. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot.
What was under the shingles
Soft decking, failed flashing, or a second layer nobody mentioned, shown while it is open, with your crew lead explaining what it means for the house.
Materials, explained
Architectural shingles, metal, flat roof membranes, and ventilation, a minute each from the owner. Prices stay out unless you write them.
Your crew
Names, faces, and the way your crew protects the landscaping and sweeps for nails, always filmed with the fall protection the job calls for.
The homeowner's view
A customer in their own words after the job, with written consent, and with no script or reward tied to what they say.

How we film on a roof
The rules we hold ourselves to on every roofing job, so nothing we deliver causes you a problem later.
- No camera operator on the pitch. We film from the ground, and the drone covers anything above the gutter line.
- Crew on the roof is filmed only with fall protection in place and visible: guardrails, safety nets, or personal fall arrest, whatever the job calls for. A clip that shows otherwise is not delivered.
- Drone flights are planned beside the crew, never over them.
- House numbers, street signs, mailboxes, license plates, and the homeowner stay out of frame unless the homeowner agrees in writing.
- The drone frames your customer's roof, not the neighbors' houses or yards.
- Weather calls the day. If wind or rain rules out a flight, we tell you before the day and fly the aerial on the next visit.
A content month
What a month looks like
Examples of how each tier tends to fill for a roofing company. The content calendar sets the real mix around your schedule.
Partner
$1,500 per month
One content day on a replacement, from tear-off to the last ridge cap. Four to six finished pieces, for example a tear-off to finish Reel, an aerial of the finished roof, a what-was-under-the-shingles piece, and a carousel, delivered within 5 business days.
Partner+
$2,750 per month
Two content days, often one replacement and one repair or inspection. One long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, such as the owner walking through a full replacement layer by layer, ten short form pieces, and three to four static or carousel posts. 3 business day turnaround.
Flagship
$4,000 per month
A weekly presence that follows several crews: 16+ finished pieces a month, event coverage included, such as a home show booth or a crew milestone, and 48 hour turnaround.

Your side
What your company provides
We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.
- Job sites where the homeowner has agreed to filming in writing, and a heads up on tear-off days, when the deck is open.
- Your Suffolk or Nassau County home improvement license number, and your full company name as printed on the license, for every piece.
- A crew in the fall protection your safety plan calls for on the days we film.
- An owner or crew lead willing to explain a choice on camera for a few minutes.
- Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.
Rules
Rules that shape roofing content
County, federal, and FAA rules that decide what goes on screen and in the caption.
Roofing is home improvement in both counties
Suffolk County Code section 563-16 names roofing in its definition of home improvement contracting, and section 563-17(D) says all advertising for home improvement contracting shall contain the number of the home improvement license. Nassau County lists roofing contractors among the trades that need a home improvement license, and its rules require display advertising and promotional literature to carry the license number and the full company name as printed on the license. So the number goes on every piece by default.
Fall protection, on camera
OSHA's construction standard says each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems, and sets a similar rule for low-slope roofs. A Reel is a public record of how your crew works, so we film crew on a roof only when that protection is in place.
No drone flights over the crew
Under 14 CFR 107.39, a small drone may not fly over a person unless that person is directly participating in the flight, is under a covered structure or inside a stationary vehicle, or the operation meets one of the operational categories in subpart D. A roofer on an open deck is none of the first two, so we fly beside the work. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot. Core Media Co. is fully insured, and the coverage includes drone work.
Warranties in Nassau County ads
Nassau County's home improvement rules say that where an ad refers to a warranty or guarantee, it shall be clearly disclosed, including what it covers and its terms. If a piece mentions a manufacturer or workmanship warranty, the terms you give us go in the caption.
Written consent from everyone on camera
New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, or a parent's or guardian's for a minor. That covers staff and customers alike, so a signed release comes before anyone appears in a piece.
A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.
Questions
Questions roofing companies ask us
- Who makes social media content for roofing companies on Long Island?
- Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film tear-offs, finished roofs from the drone, and crews working with fall protection in place, on job sites across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
- How much does social media content cost for a roofing company?
- Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a roofing company as for any other business.
- Can you film our crew working on the roof?
- Yes, from the ground or the drone, and only while the crew is in the fall protection the job calls for, which OSHA's construction standard requires on roofs with unprotected edges 6 feet or more above a lower level. We do not put a camera operator on the pitch, and we do not fly the drone over the crew.
- Will the videos show the customer's house or address?
- The roof and the work, yes, with the homeowner's written OK. House numbers, street signs, mailboxes, license plates, and anything else that would identify the address stay out of frame, and so does the homeowner unless they sign a release.
- Should a roofing company film content during storm season?
- Film ahead of it when you can. The National Hurricane Center puts the Atlantic hurricane season at June 1 to November 30, and the weeks after a storm are the busiest a crew has. Pieces on what to check after a storm and when to call a roofer, filmed in a calm week, are ready to post when they are needed. After a storm, we film the repair once the site is safe.
- Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
- No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
