Interior designers and home stagers

Social media content for Long Island interior designers and home stagers

Quick answer

Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for interior designers and home stagers across Long Island: finished rooms, reveals, and the process behind them. Clients' homes appear only with their written OK, renderings are labeled as renderings, and titles are used as held. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.

Updated

A designer or a stager sells on finished rooms, and most of those rooms are seen once, by a client or a buyer, and then lived in or sold. We photograph and film the room on the day it is done, in the light it was designed for, and build the pieces around it: the reveal, the before, the process, and the designer explaining a choice. You get a month of Reels, photos, and captions.

The work happens in other people's homes. Each one is filmed only with the owner's written OK, with family photos, mail, and house numbers out of frame. A rendering or virtual staging is labeled for what it is, so nobody mistakes it for a finished room, and the title certified interior designer appears only for a designer who holds it. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.

Across a project

One project, in content

A design job runs for months and a staging for days. The pieces follow the job.

  1. The before

The room as it is, filmed from the angles the reveal will repeat.

  2. The plan

Boards, samples, and drawings, with any rendering labeled as a rendering.

  3. Install day

Deliveries, the install crew, and the styling, filmed as it happens.

  4. The reveal

The finished room, photographed and filmed in its best light on the day it is done.

  5. Staging to listing

For stagers, the empty room and the staged room before the listing photos, with the seller's OK.

The work

What we make for a designer or stager

Pieces built on the finished room and the thinking behind it.

  • The reveal

A slow move through the finished room, cut to the moment each detail lands.

  • Before and after

The same frame before and after, with nothing added in the edit that is not in the room.

  • Why this choice

The designer on one decision: a fabric, a paint color, a layout, in a minute.

  • The details

Hardware, textiles, and lighting in close-up, for carousels and the website.

  • The empty house, staged

For stagers, a vacant room becoming a staged one, with the seller's written OK.

  • The studio

Samples, sourcing, and the team, filmed at your studio or showroom.

How we film a designer's or stager's work

Rules we keep in every home we film.

  • Every home is filmed only with the owner's written OK, and the address never appears.
  • Family photos, mail, documents, and house numbers stay out of frame.
  • Renderings and virtual staging are labeled as such in the piece.
  • Before and afters are shot from the same angle with the same lens, with nothing added in the edit.
  • The title certified interior designer appears only for a designer who holds it.
  • Captions on staged listings describe the house, never who should live in it.

A content month

What a month looks like

Examples of how each tier tends to fill for a designer or stager. The content calendar sets the real mix around your projects.

  1. Partner

    $1,500 per month

One content day at a finished project or a staging. Four to six finished pieces, for example a reveal, a before and after, a why this choice piece, and a detail carousel, delivered within 5 business days.

  2. Partner+

    $2,750 per month

Two content days, often install day and reveal day on the same job. One long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, such as a full project from the before to the reveal, ten short form pieces, and three to four static or carousel posts. 3 business day turnaround.

  3. Flagship

    $4,000 per month

A weekly presence across several projects, with event coverage included, such as a showhouse or a showroom opening: 16+ finished pieces a month and 48 hour turnaround.

Your side

What your studio provides

We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.

  • Projects whose owners have agreed to filming, in writing.
  • A heads up on reveal and install days.
  • Your titles and certifications exactly as you hold them.
  • Any rendering or virtual staging you want shown, so it can be labeled.
  • Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.

Rules

Rules that shape design and staging content

The certified title, renderings, owners' homes, and fair housing.

  • Certified interior designer is a protected title

New York's Education Law section 8301 says only a person certified under the interior design article may use the title certified interior designer, and that the title does not authorize the practice of architecture or engineering. So a designer is captioned with the title they hold, and no piece suggests design work that takes an architect or engineer.

  • A rendering is not a finished room

New York's General Business Law section 350 declares false advertising unlawful, and section 350-a defines it as advertising that is misleading in a material respect, judged by representations made by statement, word, design, device, sound, or any combination of them. A rendering or a virtually staged room shown as a finished one is that kind of representation, so each is labeled.

  • Staged listings and fair housing

42 U.S.C. 3604(c) makes it unlawful to make, print, or publish any notice, statement, or advertisement about the sale or rental of a dwelling that indicates a preference, limitation, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. A staging piece describes the rooms, never the kind of buyer or family who belongs in them.

  • Written consent from everyone on camera

New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, or a parent's or guardian's for a minor. That covers staff and customers alike, so a signed release comes before anyone appears in a piece.

  • Music needs a license for business use

Meta's Music Guidelines, which apply on Instagram and Facebook, say that using music for commercial or non-personal purposes is prohibited unless you have the appropriate licenses. We cut every piece to music licensed for it, or to none.

A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.

Questions

Questions designers and stagers ask us

Who makes social media content for interior designers on Long Island?
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film reveals, before and afters, and the process for interior designers and home stagers across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
How much does monthly content cost for a designer or stager?
Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for an interior designer or home stager as for any other business.
Can you photograph a project in a client's home?
Yes, with the owner's written OK. We keep family photos, mail, documents, and house numbers out of frame, and the address never appears in a piece or a caption.
Can we post renderings and virtual staging?
Yes, labeled as renderings or virtual staging. New York's false advertising law covers representations made by design and device as well as words, so a rendering shown as a finished room could mislead.
Do you also shoot listing photos for staged homes?
Yes, through our listing media packages, booked by the listing agent. For a stager's own content, we film the staging with the seller's OK before or alongside the listing shoot.
Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
