Huntington sits on the north shore at the western edge of Suffolk County, where the shoreline breaks into harbors and necks: Cold Spring Harbor on the Nassau line, Lloyd Harbor and Huntington Harbor in the middle, and Huntington Bay opening onto the Sound. The downtown at the center, along Main Street and New York Avenue, is surrounded by older houses on tighter lots.
