Pools and outdoor living
Social media content for Long Island pool and outdoor living companies
Quick answer
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for pool and outdoor living companies across Long Island: spring openings and fall closings, builds filmed from excavation to first fill, and drone views of the finished backyard. Children appear only with a parent's written consent. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
Updated
A finished backyard reads best from above, and a pool build has something new to show at every stage, from the first dig. We film your builds at each stage, fly the drone over the finished pool, patio, and outdoor kitchen when airspace and weather allow, and plan the rest of the year around openings, service, and closings, then hand over a month of Reels, photos, and captions cut for each platform.
Backyards are private. The drone frames your customer's yard, not the neighbors', nobody in the yard is filmed without a release, and a child appears only with a parent's written consent. House numbers and street signs stay out of frame. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.
Through the year
A pool year, in content
Openings, builds, service, closings, and design season, each with its own pieces.
Spring
Openings: the cover coming off, the water clearing, and what an opening visit covers.
Build season
Excavation, steel, gunite or liner, coping and tile, and the first fill, plus the patio, outdoor kitchen, and lighting around the pool.
Summer
Finished backyards in use, with releases from anyone in the shot, and service pieces on water balance, filters, and equipment.
Fall
Closings: lines winterized, the cover going on, and the season's finished projects cut into a long form walkthrough.
Winter
Design season: the owner on choosing a shape, a finish, and equipment, filmed in the showroom or the shop.
The work
What we make for a pool company
The build, the finished yard, and the people who keep it running.
The build, to first fill
Excavation through the first fill from the same frame on each visit, cut into one Reel.
The backyard from above
The pool, the patio, and how the whole yard fits together, by drone. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot.
Opening and closing
What each visit includes and why it matters, filmed on a real visit with the homeowner's OK.
Equipment, explained
Pumps, filters, heaters, automation, and safety covers in general terms, with any efficiency figure taken from the manufacturer's own documentation.
Outdoor living
Patios, outdoor kitchens, fire features, and lighting around the pool, by day and at dusk.

How we film a backyard
A pool is where a family spends its summer. These are the terms we film it on.
- The drone frames your customer's yard. Neighboring yards and the people in them stay out of the shot.
- Aerials are flown when the yard is clear, so the drone never passes over a guest or a swimmer.
- A child appears only with a parent's or guardian's written consent. Our default pool shots have no children in them.
- Anyone swimming or relaxing in a finished pool signs a release first.
- The pool is filmed with its fence, gate, and safety cover as the homeowner has them. We never move a barrier for a better angle.
- House numbers and street signs stay out of frame.
A content month
What a month looks like
Examples of how each tier tends to fill for a pool or outdoor living company. The content calendar sets the real mix around your season.
Partner
$1,500 per month
One content day timed to the season: openings in spring, a build stage in summer, or closings in fall. Four to six finished pieces, for example a build progress Reel, an aerial of a finished backyard, an opening explainer, and a carousel, delivered within 5 business days.
Partner+
$2,750 per month
Two content days, which lets a build be filmed at two stages in a month, or a build and a finished backyard at dusk. One long form video of 5 to 10 minutes walking a finished project with the owner, ten short form pieces, and three to four static or carousel posts. 3 business day turnaround.
Flagship
$4,000 per month
A weekly presence through the season, following several builds and service crews at once: 16+ finished pieces a month, event coverage included, such as a home show booth, and 48 hour turnaround.

Your side
What your company provides
We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.
- Backyards whose owners have agreed to filming in writing, including a return visit once the patio and plantings are finished.
- Your Suffolk or Nassau County home improvement license number, and the company name as printed on the license, for every piece.
- Your build and opening schedule, so content days land on the stages that change the most.
- A builder or tech willing to explain a step on camera.
- Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.
Rules
Rules that shape pool content
County licensing, FAA rules over a backyard, and consent for anyone in the water.
Pools are named in both counties' license rules
Suffolk County Code section 563-16 names the construction, installation, and servicing of swimming pools and spas as home improvement contracting, and section 563-17(D) says all advertising for home improvement contracting shall contain the license number. Section 563-17(G) also requires a licensee who builds pools and permanent spas over 24 inches deep to show a pool building certification and two years of experience. Nassau County lists swimming pool building, installing, and maintenance among the trades that need a home improvement license, requires the license number and full company name in display advertising, and sets its own certification and experience rules for pool builders and service contractors.
No drone flights over swimmers or guests
Under 14 CFR 107.39, a small drone may not fly over a person unless that person is directly participating in the flight, is under a covered structure or inside a stationary vehicle, or the operation meets one of the operational categories in subpart D. A swimmer or a guest by the pool is none of the first two, so aerials are flown when the yard is clear. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot. Core Media Co. is fully insured, and the coverage includes drone work.
Children on camera
New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, and for a minor the consent comes from a parent or guardian. So a child in a finished pool appears only with a parent's signed release, and everyone else in the shot signs one too.
Music needs a license for business use
Meta's Music Guidelines, which apply on Instagram and Facebook, say that using music for commercial or non-personal purposes is prohibited unless you have the appropriate licenses. We cut every piece to music licensed for it, or to none.

Questions
Questions pool companies ask us
- Who makes social media content for pool companies on Long Island?
- Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film openings, builds, closings, and finished backyards from the drone across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
- How much does monthly content cost for a pool company?
- Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a pool or outdoor living company as for any other business.
- Can you shoot drone video of a finished pool and backyard?
- Yes, when airspace and weather allow. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot. Core Media Co. is fully insured, and the coverage includes drone work. We fly when the yard is clear, frame your customer's yard rather than the neighbors', and keep house numbers out of the shot.
- What should a pool company post in the off season?
- Closings in the fall, then design season: the owner on choosing a shape, a finish, and equipment, the year's finished backyards cut into a long form walkthrough, and photos of patios and outdoor kitchens. Planning the calendar before the season means the winter months are already covered.
- Can children appear in our pool videos?
- Only with a parent's or guardian's written consent, which New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 requires for using a minor's likeness in advertising. Our default pool shots have no children in them, and anyone else in the water signs a release too.
- Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
- No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
