Contractors and home services
Social media content for Long Island contractors and home service companies
Quick answer
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, films monthly social media content for contractors and home service companies across Long Island, including roofers, remodelers, builders, landscapers, and pool and HVAC companies. We shoot the crew and the finished work on your job sites. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
Updated
Your best advertising is the work itself, and most crews are too busy doing it to film it. We come to your job sites, film the crew and the progress, photograph the finished job, and hand over a month of Reels, posts, and photos, captioned and cut for each platform.
You keep running the jobs. We plan the month with you, show up on the days that matter, such as demo day, a delivery, or the final walkthrough, and deliver the finished pieces to a shared folder. You post them, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.
Who it is for
Who it is for
Any trade whose work looks better finished than it does described.
Roofers
Tear-off to final shingle, with aerial views of the finished roof when weather and airspace allow.
Remodelers, kitchen, and bath
The room before, the work in progress, and the reveal, shot from the same angle each visit.
Builders
A house from foundation to finish, filmed across the months it takes.
Landscapers and hardscapers
Patios, walls, plantings, and lighting, by day and at dusk, with the yard from above.
Pool companies
Excavation through first fill, and the finished pool and patio.
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
The technician explaining what they found and what they fixed, in a minute a homeowner can follow.
By trade
A page for each trade
The season or the job each one follows, how we film that kind of site, a month on each tier, and the rules that apply to that trade.
- RoofersDrone views of finished roofs, tear-off to final shingle series, and crew footage only with fall protection in place.
- Landscapers and hardscapersA calendar that follows the season: cleanups, patio and wall builds as time-lapses, lighting at dusk, fall, and snow.
- HVAC and plumbingTechnicians explaining what they found, the vans and the shop, and service calls filmed inside homes only with written consent.
- Remodelers and buildersA progress series across each job, permits and house numbers kept out of frame, and the homeowner's sign-off before anything goes out.
- Pools and outdoor livingOpenings and closings, builds from excavation to first fill, and drone views of the finished backyard.
The work
What we make on a job site
Pieces that show the quality of the work and the people doing it.
Before, during, and after
The same frame on each visit, cut into a single Reel when the job wraps.
The crew at work
Names, faces, and the way your crew protects a lawn, a driveway, or a finished floor.
The owner explains a choice
Why this material, what a homeowner should ask for, and what to watch out for, in plain words.
The finished job, photographed
Stills for your website, your Google Business Profile, and carousel posts.
Aerials
Roofs, yards, and pools from above. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot.
A customer in their own words
A real customer on camera, with written consent, and with no script or reward tied to what they say.

Your side
What your company provides
We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.
- Job sites where the homeowner has agreed to filming, in writing. We keep house numbers and street signs out of frame unless the owner says otherwise.
- Your Suffolk or Nassau County home improvement license number, so it goes on every piece.
- A heads up when a job hits a milestone worth filming.
- An owner or crew lead willing to talk on camera for a few minutes.
- Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.
Rules
Rules that shape contractor content
Three local and federal rules worth knowing before anything posts.
Your license number in your advertising
Suffolk County Code section 563-17(D) says all advertising for home improvement contracting shall contain the number of the home improvement license. Nassau County's home improvement rules require display advertising and promotional literature to carry the license number and the full company name as printed on the license. Whether a given post counts is a question for your licensing office or attorney, so we put the number on every piece by default.
Reviews and testimonials
The FTC's rule on fake reviews and testimonials, announced August 14, 2024, bans fake reviews, rewards conditioned on a positive review, undisclosed reviews from your own staff, and buying fake followers or views. A customer on camera speaks for themselves, unpaid and unscripted.
Drone flights over a job
Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot. Core Media Co. is fully insured, and the coverage includes drone work. Airspace near Long Island's airports, weather, and flight restrictions decide each flight, and we tell you before the day if one is not possible.
Written consent from everyone on camera
New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, or a parent's or guardian's for a minor. That covers staff and customers alike, so a signed release comes before anyone appears in a piece.
A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.
Questions
Questions contractors ask us
- Who makes social media videos for contractors on Long Island?
- Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We film roofers, remodelers, builders, landscapers, and pool and HVAC companies on their job sites across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, posts, and photos. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
- How much does it cost to have content made for a contracting business?
- Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a contractor as for any other business.
- Do you come to our job sites?
- Yes, anywhere in Suffolk or Nassau County. We plan content days around your schedule and your milestones, and the price is the same wherever the job is.
- Can you shoot drone footage of a roof or a backyard project?
- Yes, when airspace and weather allow. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot. Core Media Co. is fully insured, and the coverage includes drone work.
- Do we need the homeowner's permission to film?
- Yes. Anyone who appears on camera signs a release first, which New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 requires for advertising use, and we ask the owner before showing a house that could be identified. We keep house numbers and street signs out of frame.
- Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
- No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
