Landscapers and hardscapers
Social media content for Long Island landscapers and hardscape companies
Quick answer
Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY, makes monthly social media content for landscapers and hardscape companies across Long Island, planned around your season: spring cleanups, patio and wall builds filmed as time-lapses, lighting at dusk, fall cleanups, and snow. Before and after photos match angle for angle. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
Updated
A landscaping company has more to show in May than in January, and a patio looks different every day of the build. We plan the content calendar around your season, build time-lapses of hardscape jobs from the same frame on every visit, come back for the finished yard in daylight and at dusk when the lighting comes on, and hand over a month of Reels, photos, and captions cut for each platform.
The work most worth filming happens in the weeks you have the least time. So the calendar is set before the season starts: which installs to film, which cleanups to shoot before and after, and when to come back once the plantings fill in. You post the pieces, or hand them to whoever runs your accounts.
Through the year
A landscaping year, in content
Five seasons of work, each with something to film, planned before the first truck rolls.
Early spring
Cleanups and the first installs. Before and after pairs from the same corner of the yard, and the owner on what a spring cleanup actually includes.
Late spring and summer
Hardscape season: patios, walls, walkways, and outdoor kitchens as progress time-lapses, plus plantings, sod, and irrigation.
Summer evenings
Landscape lighting, filmed at dusk on the evening it is finished, or on a return visit the homeowner agrees to.
Fall
Leaf cleanups and fall plantings, and the year's finished projects filmed while the yards still look full.
Winter
Snow removal if you plow, filmed once the roads are safe, and the owner at the drawing table on next season's designs.
The work
What we make for a landscaping company
Pieces where the change in the yard does the talking.
The hardscape build
Excavation, base, pavers or stone, and the finished patio or wall from the same frame each visit, cut into one time-lapse Reel.
Before and after, from the same spot
A cleanup or a planting shot from the identical angle, so the yard is the only thing that changes.
The yard at dusk
Lighting along the paths, walls, and trees, at the hour people actually use the space.
From above
The whole yard, the layout, and the curve of a new bed or patio, by drone. Every drone flight is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot.
The owner on a choice
Pavers or natural stone, what grows in shade, and how a retaining wall drains, a minute each.
Crew, equipment, and trucks
Your crew at work, the machines, and the trucks with your name on the doors.
On site
How we film a yard
The habits that keep a before and after honest and keep the neighbors out of it.
- Before shots are taken from a marked spot, so the after shot matches it frame for frame.
- Nothing is shown as finished before it is. New plantings are labeled as new, and we come back when they fill in.
- Neighboring yards, house numbers, and street signs stay out of frame.
- Around running equipment, we film from the distance your crew lead sets.
- Time-lapse frames are captured on our visits. No camera is left on the property unless the homeowner agrees to it.
- Music is licensed for business use, or the piece runs without it.
A content month
What a month looks like
Examples of how each tier tends to fill for a landscaping or hardscape company. The content calendar sets the real mix around your season.
Partner
$1,500 per month
One content day on that month's busiest work: a cleanup shot before and after on the same day in spring, a hardscape install in summer, or leaves in fall. Four to six finished pieces, for example a before and after Reel, a build progress piece, an aerial, and a carousel, delivered within 5 business days.
Partner+
$2,750 per month
Two content days, which suits a hardscape job: one early in the build and one at the finish, running into dusk if there is lighting. One long form video of 5 to 10 minutes walking a finished project with the owner, ten short form pieces, and three to four static or carousel posts. 3 business day turnaround.
Flagship
$4,000 per month
A weekly presence through the season, following several jobs from bare ground to finished yard: 16+ finished pieces a month, event coverage included, such as a home and garden show, and 48 hour turnaround.

Monthly partnership pricing
The same three tiers every business pays, whatever the trade. Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month.

Your side
What your company provides
We do the planning, filming, editing, and captions. These stay with you.
- Job sites where the homeowner has agreed to filming in writing, including a return visit when the plantings fill in or the lighting is on.
- Your Suffolk or Nassau County home improvement license number, and the company name as printed on the license, for every piece.
- Your install schedule, so we are there on the days a yard changes most.
- An owner or crew lead willing to explain a choice on camera.
- Someone to post the finished pieces and answer the comments and messages they bring in.
Rules
Rules that shape landscaping content
Licensing, a Suffolk calendar rule, and what an ad may show.
Landscapers are licensed, and the number goes in the ad
Suffolk County Code section 563-16 includes landscaping and tree services in its definition of home improvement contracting, and section 563-17(D) says all advertising for home improvement contracting shall contain the license number. Nassau County's rules take a gardener or landscaper's use of their own equipment, or their own vehicle to carry it, as prima facie evidence that a home improvement license is needed, and require display advertising and promotional literature to carry the license number and the full company name as printed on the license.
Fertilizer dates in Suffolk
Suffolk County Local Law 41-2007 says fertilizer shall not be applied to any turf on property the county does not own between November 1 and April 1 of every year, with limited exceptions, and section 563-17(F) requires a licensed contractor who applies fertilizer to take an approved turf management course. So a Suffolk fertilizing piece is filmed in season, never on a March shoot.
The work shown has to be the work
Nassau County's home improvement rules say representations and illustrations of products or services offered to the public shall be accurately represented in all advertisements or descriptive material. So a before and after is your own job, shot as it is: no borrowed photos, and no rendering presented as finished work.
Music needs a license for business use
Meta's Music Guidelines, which apply on Instagram and Facebook, say that using music for commercial or non-personal purposes is prohibited unless you have the appropriate licenses. We cut every piece to music licensed for it, or to none.

Written consent from everyone on camera
New York's Civil Rights Law section 50 makes it a misdemeanor to use a living person's name, portrait, picture, likeness, or voice for advertising or trade without their written consent, or a parent's or guardian's for a minor. That covers staff and customers alike, so a signed release comes before anyone appears in a piece.
A plain reading of each rule with its source, not legal advice. We are not your compliance department, and we do not pretend to be. Your compliance team or counsel has the final word on every piece.
Questions
Questions landscapers ask us
- Who makes social media content for landscapers on Long Island?
- Core Media Co., a photography and video studio at 523 Lake Avenue in Saint James, NY. We plan a content calendar around your season, film cleanups, hardscape builds, and lighting on job sites across Suffolk and Nassau County, and hand over a month of finished Reels, photos, and captions. Plans run $1,500 to $4,000 per month with a six-month minimum.
- How much does monthly content cost for a landscaping company?
- Partner is $1,500, Partner+ is $2,750, and Flagship is $4,000 per month, each with a six-month minimum term, then month to month. Partner is 1 content day and 4 to 6 finished pieces a month. Partner+ is 2 content days, 1 long form video of 5 to 10 minutes, 10 short form pieces, and 3 to 4 static or carousel posts. Flagship is a weekly presence with 16+ pieces and event coverage included. The tiers are the same for a landscaping or hardscape company as for any other business.
- Can you film a patio or retaining wall build as a time-lapse?
- Yes. We shoot the same frame on each visit, from bare ground to the finished surface, and cut it into one time-lapse Reel. Partner+ includes two content days a month, which suits one visit early in the build and one at the finish.
- What should a landscaping company post in the winter?
- Snow removal if you plow, filmed once the roads are safe, the year's finished projects cut into a long form walkthrough, the owner on next season's designs, and photos of hardscape and lighting, which hold up in any month. The calendar is planned before the season, so winter does not leave a gap.
- Can you film landscape lighting at night?
- Yes. We film lighting at dusk, while there is still some color in the sky, on the evening the job is finished or on a later visit the homeowner agrees to. The finished yard in daylight comes from the same angles, so the two can run side by side.
- Do you post to our accounts or run our ads?
- No. We make the content and hand it over ready to post: the finished files and their captions, cut for each platform, in a shared folder. You post them, or pass them to whoever runs your accounts. We do not post, boost posts, or run ads, and we do not promise follower numbers.
